07/04/06 - Money Shop expansion
The Money Shop - the Uk's No1 Cheque Cashing Company, today announced further expansion in the U.K. market through the acquisition of six stores from a franchisee of the Company's U.K. subsidiary. The stores located in Margate, Canterbury, Ashford, Folkestone, Bognor & Worthing bring the total number of company owned stores up to 168. All will operate and offer the full range of Money Shop services and this will include the companies first pre-paid MasterCard (R) from next month.
Commenting on the acquisition, Managing Director Paul Mildenstein, stated, "The acquisition of these stores allows us to increase our presence in markets that were not previously being served by our existing company operated store network. We remain committed to being the most geographically and product diversified company in the industry and will continue to explore opportunities to enter new markets and expand our product offerings. As part of this strategy, we will continue to look at franchisee acquisition opportunities wherever the opportunity presents itself."
