The Money Shop marks 450th store with celebrations and a charitable donation
The Money Shop customers and staff celebrated the opening of its 450th UK store in Harrogate today, which will offer a range of professional short term financial solutions to people in the area.
Located at 28 Beulah Street, Harrogate, the new Money Shop store has launched as a result of a nationwide expansion programme which is expected to see a further 100 stores open in the next 12 months, with plans to reach 500 stores by the middle of next year.
Money Shop staff were on hand to answer questions about the range of products and services available and celebrations included balloons and a specially commissioned 450 cake for customers to enjoy.
To mark the 450 store milestone, the store arranged for a delivery of gifts to Saint Michael's Hospice in Harrogate which Money Shop staff hope will help get the festive season underway for patients and their families as well as providing much needed funds.
Paul Dove, Harrogate Store Manager, said: "I'm really excited about welcoming customers to the new store. I'll be heading up the team and we hope the celebrations will build consumer awareness of The Money Shop. Saint Michael's Hospice relies heavily on the support of the local community and we hope that the delivery of gifts today will help lift the spirits of everyone this Christmas."

Saint Michael's Hospice is a local charity that exists to improve the lives of people affected by terminal illness and their families. Saint Michael's needs £3.9million a year to continue its work, and less than 20 per cent of this funding comes from the NHS. This means that it needs to raise £3.2million annually from legacies, grants and the support of the local community.
